Description:

The Prospect Heights Street Tree Task Force has ways for you to put those thoughts of spring into action. They're offering a free hands-on workshop – Street Tree Care 101: How to Help Your Street Trees Thrive, on Saturday, July 19, 9:30-11:00 am – at the Brooklyn Brainery at 190 Underhill Avenue, between Sterling & St. Johns Place. This will be a fun gathering with neighbors who also love our city’s street trees and want to know more about how to help them survive and flourish. Click here for details and to sign up.

Meantime, the Prospect Heights Street Tree Task Force urges you to invite it to prune, mulch and aerate the soil of each tree on your block. The Prospect Heights Street Tree Task Force stands ready, willing and able to partner with you and other block and merchant associations to enhance the health and vitality of your street trees.  Even if your block does not have an active block or merchant association the Task Force can still help you to make your street trees happy and healthy. They'll work with you to choose a tree-care event date and a staging area where tools and mulch can be distributed. The Prospect Heights Street Tree Task Force will provide the cultivators, trowels, shovels, wheelbarrows, mulch, certified tree pruners, and other helpful neighbors to get the job done. If you have any questions, give us a call at 917-202-8897 or e-mail us at: phstreettrees@gmail.com.
