Open streets return to Prospect Heights April 2
Posted: March 24, 2021 - 12:06pm

After a successful first year, the Vanderbilt Avenue open street is back! On weekends beginning Friday, April 2, join your friends and neighbors for outdoor dining, relaxation and socially-distant fun on Prospect Heights’ Vanderbilt Avenue (between Atlantic Avenue and Park Place). Vanderbilt Avenue will be opened for pedestrian and cyclist use only Fridays 5PM to 10PM; and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays 12PM to 10PM. The street will close to traffic one hour before for setup and remain closed one hour after for breakdown. Please remember that there is no parking allowed during these hours. For more information, visit www.vanderbiltavenue.org. To donate to help keep Vanderbilt Avenue open on weekends, click here.

Open streets also return to Underhill Avenue beginning Monday, April 5. The blocks of Underhill Avenue between Bergen Street and St. John’s Place will be closed to through traffic Mondays through Thursdays 8AM until 8PM, and on Fridays from 8AM until 4PM. PHNDC will host a virtual town hall meeting on Monday, March 29 at 7PM to discuss the open streets program in Prospect Heights and to answer questions. To register to attend, click here.
