The Prospect Heights Neighborhood Development Council

Neighborhood civics host forum for 35th City Council District candidates June 5
Posted: May 9, 2013 - 7:35am

The last ten years have brought tremendous change to our neighborhoods. How will our next City Council member help maintain and improve quality of life, encourage development of affordable housing and creation of jobs, promote the safety and security of our communities, improve the education of our children, and ensure critical City services are maintained?

Join the Prospect Heights Neighborhood Development Council, the Crown Heights North Association and the Crow Hill Association for a discussion of issues affecting our communities with the candidates who hope to be the next City Council member representing the 35th District. Come and hear where the candidates stand on issues important to you.

Olanike Alabi, Laurie Cumbo, Ede Fox, Jesse Hamilton, F. Richard Hurley, and Jelani Mashariki will answer questions from community members from 7-9PM on Wednesday, June 5 at P.S. 9, 80 Underhill Avenue (between St. Marks Avenue and Bergen Street). The discussion will be moderated by Mark Winston Griffith, Executive Director of the Brooklyn Movement Center.

Residents and business owners of Crow Hill, Crown Heights and Prospect Heights are encouraged to submit questions for the forum online using Google Moderator. We look forward to seeing you on June 5!
