Posted: September 9, 2008 - 8:14pm

Citizens Committee for New York City is a not-for-profit organization that supports grassroots groups across the city in their efforts to build stronger communities. Twice a year, it awards grants of $500 to $3,000 to community groups in economically under-resourced neighborhoods to work on community improvement projects.

In preparation for the upcoming fall application deadline of September 30, Citizens Committee is hosting a workshop to learn more about the grants and the application process. The workshop will take place on Wednesday, September 17th from 6-7:30 PM at Brower Park Library at 725 Saint Marks Avenue.

In addition to its grants program, Citizens Committee provides one-on-one project implementation assistance, skills-building workshops, leadership training and a resource center.

To RSVP for the workshop, or receive a grant application, contact Arif Ullah, Director of Neighborhood Resources at 212-822-9580. Citizens Committee for New York City's website is www.citizensnyc.org.
