Each month Community Board 8's SLA and Sidewalk Cafe Licensing Committee reviews and makes recommendations on applications to the NYS Liquor Authority on liquor licenses and to the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs on sidewalk cafes. While the Community Board's recommendations are advisory, it provides crucial input to approval agencies, most notably in the State Liquor Authority's crafting of stipulations to liquor licenses.  The meeting provides an opportunity for the pubic to ask questions and give testimony. The following licenses for Prospect Heights and CB 8 are on the agenda for new approval or renewal.
 
A. Discussion of the following renewal liquor license application:
  • Sunshine Co, 780 Washington (corner Sterling) – Full (seeking extension of hours)
  • Imperial Bikers MC Club, 652 Franklin Avenue (corner of St. Marks) –Full 
  • Way Station, 683-685 Washington Avenue (between Prospect and St. Marks) – Full
  • Friends and Lovers, 641 Classon Avenue (between Dean and Pacific) – Full 
B. Discussion of the following new liquor license applications:
  • Brooklyn Winery, 747 Franklin Avenue (between Sterling and St. John’s) – Full
  • Cooklyn, 659 Vanderbilt Avenue (between Park and Prospect) – Full (garden/grounds indicated)
  • Hungry Ghost, 253 Flatbush (between Bergen and St. Marks) – Beer/Wine 
  • Mrs. Dorsey’s Kitchen, 794 Washington Avenue (between Sterling and St. John’s) – Full 
C. Discussion of the following Sidewalk Café Renewal Applications:
  • Burrito Bar, 307 Flatbush Avenue (corner of Prospect Place). 20 tables, 42 chairs
  • The Vanderbilt, 570 Vanderbilt Avenue (corner Bergen Street). 15 tables, 30 chairs
  • Bearded Lady, 686A Washington Avenue (corner St. Marks). 10 tables, 22 chairs
