Water shutdowns this week on Eastern Parkway
Posted: April 26, 2011 - 4:19pm

The NYC Department of Design and Construction is managing the capital construction project: Eastern Parkway Project between Washington Avenue and Underhill Avenue. To facilitate some work operations, water shutdowns are necessary. Water shut-off will occur at/about 8:00AM on Wednesday 4/27, Thursday 4/28 and Friday 4/29, in each case lasting for approximately eight (8) hours.

These impacts are associated with the installation of the 12” water main, being performed by the NYC Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC) for the Eastern Parkway Project.

Some things to remember:

  • The DDC recommends that you shut off the water main valve in your house/building in order to avoid problems that may occur if/when sediment enters or released from your plumbing.
  • You are asked to shut off all WATER cooled appliances which may include air conditioners, etc.
  • Once water service is returned, turn the main house valve back on and flush the system by running your faucets to sinks and tubs for a few minutes.

If you have any questions, concerns, or would like to learn more about the project, please call Scott Payne, the Community Construction Liaison at 347-457-5362, or visit the NYCDDC web site. During non-construction hours please contact York City Government Services and Information Hotline at 311.
