Help CAMBA fight local hunger
Posted: April 2, 2010 - 9:21am

CAMBA's Beyond Hunger Food Pantry, located on Church Avenue, is having a food drive during the months of March and April. Alleviating hunger in our community is an ongoing issue that we can all do something about. By donating nutritious food items and/or making a monetary donation, you can help keep pantry doors open and make sure that families experiencing a hunger emergency in Flatbush can get the food they need.

Suggested items include (non-perishable): rice, beans, fruit, vegetables, pasta, canned tuna/salmon, canned chicken, canned or dried milk, cereal, peanut butter, and 100% fruit juice.

Currently, 1.3 million New Yorkers live in food insecure households and 1 in 5 children go hungry. We have seen a 167% increase in pantry use from 2008 to 2009. Donations may be dropped off at any of the following CAMBA locations in Flatbush and Park Slope:

  • 1720 Church Avenue, 2nd Floor
  • 885 Flatbush Avenue, Room 202
  • 19 Winthrop Street
  • 2103 Kenmore Terrace
  • Park Slope Womens Shelter, 1402 8th Avenue
  • The Beyond Hunger Food Pantry, 2241 Church Avenue
