Lottery for affordable apartments at 535 Carlton Avenue opens

Greenland Forest City Partners is offering 298 affordable studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments at 535 Carlton Avenue (corner of Dean Street). Apartments will be awarded through a lottery administered by the City of New York. Eligible tenants may earn between $20,126 for an individual and $173,415 for a family of six. Each kitchen features a gas range, microwave and dishwasher.

Atlantic Yards first affordable apartments available through lottery

The first affordable apartments to become available at Atlantic Yards have entered the City lottery process. 461 Dean Street, formerly known as B2, is offering 181 affordable studio, one bedroom and two bedroom apartments. Eligible tenants may earn between $20,675 for an individual and $144,960 for a family of four. Each apartment features stainless steel kitchen appliances and a washer and dryer.

Residents of Brooklyn community districts 2, 3, 6 and 8 receive lottery preference for 50% of all affordable apartments offered at Atlantic Yards. The board of the Atlantic Yards Community Development Corporation (AYCDC) will meet on March 15 at 3:00PM. The meeting is open to the public.

Among other responsibilities, AYCDC is charged with advising the board of the Empire State Development Corporation with respect to proposed changes in the Atlantic Yards project. Greenland Forest City Partners has announced it intends to seek a revision to the project plan to allow it shift an office tower planned to be located in front of the Barclays Center arena across Flatbush Avenue to the block currently occupied by Modell's and P.C. Richard.
